We get this statement all the time, I want to buy a Mac because Macs do not get virus's. CNET news sent out a survey to internet security companies with the question which is more secure a PC or a Mac?

My take from this article is that both the PC and the Mac are vulnerable  to virus's. The perception is that PC's are more vulnerable, but this is due to the fact that Microsoft Windows owns 90% of the market while Apple's Mac is <10%. My decision on which computer to buy would be;

1. Functionality ( Will it do everything I need it to do)
2. Price (I  prefer a new machine every 2 years so price is important)
3. Warranty (I like to have 2 years minimum)
4. Expert reviews ( I usually use CNET for reviews)
5. Peripheral ports (HDMI, USB , Memory cards
